Questions agencies ask

What is agency overflow design support?

It’s extra design and motion capacity for when your studio is flat out. Instead of hiring or turning work away, you bring in an experienced freelancer who works to your brief, your brand and your deadlines, for one job or on an ongoing basis.

Do you work white-label?

Yes. The work goes out under your agency’s name and you keep the client relationship. I only talk to your client if you ask me to. I’m very good at being invisible.

What design services do you offer agencies?

Motion design and animation, campaign rollouts across social, digital, video and print, digital display and HTML email, presentation and template design, brand identity, and print and editorial design.

Do you work with agencies in Australia and New Zealand?

Yes. I’m based in Southland, right at the bottom of New Zealand, and work remotely with agencies across Australia and New Zealand, plus clients in the US. We’re two to three hours ahead of Australia’s east coast, so by the time you’re starting your day, I’ve already had my coffee.

Can you work within our brand guidelines and templates?

Yes. I work within your guidelines, templates and file structures, so the work looks like it came from your studio. Because, as far as your client is concerned, it did.

Can you animate artwork our team has designed?

Yes, and it’s one of my favourite kinds of job. I bring supplied artwork, illustrations and storyboards to life, from logo animations and social content to longer campaign films.

Can you roll a campaign out across formats?

Yes. Give me an approved master and I’ll adapt it across social, digital display, video and broadcast, out-of-home and print, delivered to each platform’s specs.

Do you take on small jobs?

Yes. Updates, resizes and one-off assets are welcome, alongside bigger campaigns and ongoing support. No job too small, within reason.

How do you charge?

I work hourly, by the day or on a retainer, depending on the project. Fixed quotes are also available for a clear scope. Quotes are in AUD, NZD or USD, and GST is only added for New Zealand clients.

How quickly can you start?

It depends on what’s already on my desk. Send the brief and deadline and I’ll tell you straight away whether I can hit it. I’d rather say no on Monday than apologise on Friday.

What files do you hand over?

Final exports to your specs, plus organised, editable working files, so your team can make changes or reuse the work later.

Which software do you use?

Mainly Adobe Creative Cloud (After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere Pro), plus Figma, Canva and a range of web, email and presentation tools.
