Tools I Use All the Time

Typeface is my go-to app for managing and browsing fonts. It lets me preview everything in one place and group fonts together — even ones that aren’t installed. When I’m working on a brand project, I can pull up collections I’ve saved from past explorations or dig into my full library without having to install anything. It’s well designed and fast, and I like that it’s a one-off purchase instead of another subscription.

I use Pitch to present ideas to clients. It’s a browser-based deck builder, but it handles video, imagery and branding way better than something like Google Slides. You can create templated layouts and styled text, so once a deck’s set up, it’s easy to update. I also find it handy for tracking — it lets me know which slides were viewed and for how long, which is useful when sharing work for review.

When it comes to motion, Cavalry has been a solid addition to my toolset. It’s built for procedural animation, which means you can create systems instead of keyframing everything manually. I’ve used it on projects where After Effects would have been slower or more rigid. It’s not for every job, but when I want something layered, generative or just a bit weirder Cavalry gets there quicker.
